400 YEAR OLD CURSE STILL HAUNTS A WELL KNOWN ROYAL FAMILY!!!!!
There are many royal secrets that were kept away from public,one such is the curse of king Tirumalaraja's widow wife to the erstwhile rulers of Wadiyar royal family, which left them heirless ever since.
In the year 1612, Mysore was under the reign of Vijayanagara Empire and was ruled by
King Tirumalaraja .When he was affected with fatal disease ,his enemies dethroned him by murdering him .He even murdered his sons and even held his family and his court advisors under house arrest.But the king's royal consort Rani Alamelamma escaped with all royal ornaments and documents, ran away from Wadiyar's.
Soon after learning about her escape, the ruler sent his soldiers to capture her and ordered to confiscate all the royal ornaments and documents. She took refuge in Talakadu, an area in the vicinity.
Fearing that she'll be killed and all the crucial royal treasure would be taken back, she committed suicide by jumping into the Cauvery river , along with all ornaments and documents.
Before jumping ,the queen gave 3 curses to the Wadiyar dynasty,as follows.
- May Talakad turn into a barren expanse of sand
- May Malangi(a village on the banks of Cauvery) turn into an unfathomed whirlpool.
- May the Wadiyars of Mysore not have children for eternity.
After learning about Alamelamma's suicide and her curse, they had put a statue at the palace, and religiously offered prayers to ward off her curse.
Even to this day,her statue stands upright in the hidden area inside Mysore royal palace and there is no direct heir to the throne.
They still adopt a child from their extended family and the present king Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar is the nephew of the last king.
But there is a twist to this story, Queen Trishika ,wife of current king is pregnant.
Will the curse be broken??? Lets wait!!!

THE CURSE IS NOT BROKEN
The newborn baby of king Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar and queen Trishika Devi was born on 6th december 2017 , the whole wadiyar family is rejoicing the birth of the new royal infant . But still the curse haunts Wadiyar's.
It is said that the curse will only be broken when this new infant will become a father!!!!
Because Yaduveer is the nephew of the previous king and not his own son.
